Job Summary:
The Sales Officer is responsible for managing dealer relationships, achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, and ensuring smooth order-to-dispatch operations in the assigned territory. This role plays a key part in driving sales growth through effective field execution, channel coordination, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Follow-up & Client Coordination
- Regularly follow up with leads and prospective clients.
- Meet clients in person to understand their requirements and present product solutions.
2. Dealer Coordination & Relationship Management
- Maintain strong and regular communication with existing dealers.
- Ensure continuous engagement and resolve operational issues promptly.
3. Order Booking & Coordination with SCM for Dispatch
- Take orders from dealers and coordinate with the SCM/logistics team for timely delivery.
- Ensure proper follow-up on pending orders and dispatches.
4. Negotiation and Closure
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, and terms with dealers within the company guidelines.
- Finalize and close sales transactions ensuring customer satisfaction.
5. Area Coverage & Expansion (Width of Distribution)
- Identify and onboard new dealers or retailers to expand the network.
- Ensure regular market visits and coverage of assigned beats.
- Proactively identify new sales opportunities and areas with sales potential.
6. Sales Target Achievement
- Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets as assigned by the management.
- Drive product push in the assigned area to improve sales volume.
7. Collection and Monitoring
- Track outstanding payments and follow up with parties to ensure timely collections.
- Maintain and review ageing reports to avoid credit defaults.
8. Customer Complaint Handling
- Record and address complaints received from clients or dealers.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure resolution within committed timelines
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
- 2–4 years of experience in field sales (FMCG / Electronics / Channels/Distributors)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and sales reporting
