Management Trainnee (Operation Department)

The basic functions of the Operations Dept. of KK Mart is to sell goods to it’s customers and include the following :

1. Establish KK Mart retail outlets

This will include the following task to be carried out with the support of the company management team when opening new KK Mart outlets:

i. Co-ordinate with contractors to carry out required electrical and civil works at the retail outlet including installing back up power inverters .

ii. Co-ordinate with fabricators to ensure all outlet brand signages are appropriately installed.

iii. Co-ordinate with suppliers to install appropriate equipment for storage and display of frozen and chilled goods such as,

- Ice Cream

- Frozen Meat & Vegetables

- Milk, Yoghurt & other dairy items

- Alcohol beverages

- CSD & other non alcoholic beverages

iv. Coordinate with fabricators to install racks and shelves for the display & storage of goods (Stock Keeping Units or SKU) for customer retail sales.

v. In coordination with the IT. Dept. install all necessary equipment required to execute cashier functions e.g. computers, scanners, POS machines, bill printers etc.

vi. Ensure cleanliness within the outlet and around it’s immediate premises.

Ensure all of the above are kept in working order and conduct their maintenance at required intervals.

2. Inventory Management

i. In coordination with the Purchase Dept. and the IT Dept. to ensure optimum inventory of goods for customers sales under the following general categories are maintained at all KK Mart retail outlets top optimize each outlets daily sales. :

- Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) – Foods

- FMCG – Non Foods

- Staples

- Frozen Items

- Bakery products etc

ii. Check damaged and expired items are properly identified, recorded and regularly sent back to Central Warehouse. Ensure First In First Out (FIFO) practices are executed in the most efficient manner possible at all KK Mart retail outlets to reduced quantity of expired SKUs to minimum.

iii. Ensure all SKUs are displayed in the freezers, chillers, racks and shelves in the most logical manner for easy consumer view and access.

3. Retail Outlet Personnel Management

This will include the following work in coordination with the Human Resources Dept. :

i. Recruitment & proper training of adequate number of retail outlet staff.

ii. Monitor staff behavior to ensure the retail outlet staff adhere to all company employee rules and properly execute all the duties and responsibilities entrusted to them. This includes timely work attendance as per their duty timings, opening and closing their retail outlets in a timely manner.

iii. Ensure the retail outlet staff are customer service oriented.

iv. Manage weekly duty rosters, weekly day off and other leave as required of all outlet staff while ensuring each outlet is adequately staffed at all times.

v. Take appropriate punitive action as required if retail outlet staff violate company rules and policies, including reporting them to police in cases of theft of company assets.

vi. Ensure adequately trained and an adequate number of junior and middle level managers are assigned to supervise and support all Operations functions herein are executed in a professional manner.

4. Other functions

Besides the above the Operations Dept. is also required to manage the following :

i. Maintain good relations with property landlord.

ii. Maintain good relations with neighboring shops and residents.

iii. Maintain good relations with police / traffic personnel under which jurisdiction the particular KK Mart outlet falls.

iv. Maintain good relations with nearby businesses – especially restaurants, hotels, hostels etc which might be regularly purchasing goods from our outlet.

v. Try to find out major festivals that the locality where the outlet is located celebrates in order maximize sales on those festival days
