Job Description 

  • Assist in developing and implementing revenue management strategies and pricing decisions.
  • Analyze booking patterns, market trends, and competitive data to forecast demand and adjust pricing accordingly.
  • Monitor and adjust room rates, availability, and inventory to maximize revenue.
  • Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR).
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to the Revenue Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and market positioning.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on competitive analysis.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand group bookings and special events, ensuring optimal pricing and inventory management.
  • Coordinate with the front office to ensure seamless implementation of pricing strategies and promotions.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to align strategies and address revenue-related issues.
  • Utilize revenue management systems (RMS) and property management systems (PMS) to track and manage inventory and pricing.
  • Ensure data accuracy and system integrity for effective decision-making.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff or new team members in revenue management practices and tools.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Analyze the hotel(s) results and performance (average rates, occupancy rates, RevPAR..). Survey the market and competitors in terms of performance (RevPAR Index, market penetration…), pricing and availability as a basis for future tactical decisions with the Hotel(s) GMs.
  • Ensure an accurate and dynamic forecast for the future dates (by room and revenue by segment and day) based on the RM referenced systems recommendations and a daily monitoring of the data (portfolio, booking pick-up, events, calendar events).
  • Ensure that a “RM culture” is spread in the hotel, through the animation of weekly yield meetings (gathering the GM and the key hotel managers) and regular coaching and training sessions for the hotel teams

Profile

Typical background

  • Degree in Hotel Management school or Business school
  • Experience between 1 to 2 years in a full-time Assistant RM position
  • Reception/Reservation experience preferred
