Job Summary:
The English Language/Documentation Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all official documents, reports, and communication in English. The role involves drafting, editing, proofreading, and managing a wide range of written content for both internal and external use, while also maintaining organizational document standards and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum and Course Development:
> Design, develop, and update English language curriculum tailored to specific organizational or academic needs.
> Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, training materials, and course modules for various proficiency levels.
> Integrate modern pedagogical strategies and digital tools to enhance language learning outcomes.
2. Documentation and Communication
> Draft, edit, and proofread official reports, manuals, proposals, and internal/external communications in English.
> Ensure accuracy, consistency, and professionalism in all written documents.
> Maintain proper documentation and archiving systems for easy retrieval and reference.
3. Language Support
> Conduct English language training or support sessions for staff, students, or stakeholders as required.
> Provide one-on-one assistance for writing and communication improvement.
> Evaluate written and spoken English proficiency and provide feedback for development.
4. Policy and Standards Compliance
> Ensure all written materials comply with organizational language standards and policies.
> Stay updated on relevant language guidelines and best practices in academic and technical writing.
5. Reporting and Monitoring
> Monitor course effectiveness and prepare periodic evaluation reports.
> Collect feedback from learners and stakeholders to improve language programs and documentation standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
> Master’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Linguistics, or a related field.
> Proven experience in documentation, editing, or content writing.
> Excellent command of written and spoken English.
> Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
> Proficiency in MS Office and document management tools.
> Familiarity with translation or localization tools is a plus.
> Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
