Is Teaching a Hard job?

Teaching refers to helping students for studying and gain knowledge. It might be basic knowledge or advanced knowledge. It is ideas and thoughts taught by the authority to the children or students. The person who teaches the younger generation is a teacher and the one who learns is a student. The teacher teaches students about letters, words, sentences, and many more. Teaching is a profession where the teacher teaches students about life, and value, and give instruction. There are three levels of teachers generally Elementary teachers, secondary teachers, and university teachers.

Elementary teacher:- the person who teaches small kids from kindergarten to upper kindergarten. Only the teachers having valid licenses and care are given the role of an elementary teacher as the kids in elementary are small and hard to handle.

Secondary teacher:- the person who teaches the children from early 1 class to higher secondary. The teachers who teach secondary kids teach them basic life and how they cope with problems and give them the knowledge to deal with problems and solve them.

University teacher:- the person who teaches adults from higher secondary to the college level. Here the teachers are supposed to teach the people the knowledge that is helpful to earn money and live their life. It is skills-based on this level.

Is teaching a hard job?

It is a contradictory question but the answer is only one. Yes, teaching is a hard job as people have to invest time and patience to create something great. Children are the mud that the teacher shapes and makes the beautiful pot. A teacher is like a potter who makes beautiful and useful pots. If the children’s behavior is good then they are taught by great teachers. “Teachers can change lives with the right mix of chalk and challenges." 

Teachers are the only person who is capable of changing the lives of people.

Now why teaching is a hard job? Here are some of the reasons:-

1. Long hours

Teaching job is hard as teachers have to spend long hours teaching. They don’t get to sit and have to stand as well as spend hours checking copies, and notes. They need to grade the children even after the working hours they aren’t allowed to rest as they need to work extra hours. The teachers don’t get vacations too. So working long hours more than 8 hours is one of the factors that contribute to making the teaching job a hard job.

2. High and hectic workload

Being a teacher is going to be hectic as it is ever-changing. Children need extra care and love, especially from their teachers so sometimes it gets hectic and has a high workload. Even on vacations teachers need to check copies, give grades, and weak tutor students. They even follow up with their students and need to check on them.

3. Low pay

The teachers are the most hard-working persons and the ones who are paid low. They don’t even get to enjoy holidays. It is one of the most interesting jobs and rewarding as you can spend a lot of time with children. Preparing the younger generation for the future is somehow rewarding however compared to the pay they get they need to do extra works

4. Dynamic nature

The nature of teaching is dynamic it changes according to time. The teaching style should also change according to the time the people are teaching. The children need to learn dynamic ways to get accustomed to the world and its environment. Likewise, the teaching style should change compared to time so teaching is a dynamic nature.

What type of teacher is in the highest demand?

Teachers are one of the most preferred and respected jobs all over the world. As per the reports, there are more than 80 million teachers, and this has increased. There are a lot of teachers for different teachers. If you want to be a teacher you can specialize in any subject of your interest and get a degree then you can easily get the job. On the contrary, teachers aren’t limited to just a degree as they need to have qualities like patience, love, and care towards their students which are more important.

Here is the list of some highly preferred teaching jobs:-

  • Various subject teachers

The various subject teachers like mathematics, science, history, social, English and many more are in high demand. The schools, colleges, and universities hire teachers who are specialized in various subjects. One who can make students clear about the topic they are teaching.

  • Foreign language

Foreign languages are the additional knowledge that keeps you up to date and can help you to communicate with the people living abroad. Foreign language teachers are also in high demand. If you have foreign language knowledge then you can be a teacher too and can earn good money.

 

  • Engineering subjects

Teachers who have experience and have got a degree in the relevant subject can be engineering teachers. University teachers are paid well amount by teaching just for an hour. The engineering teacher can teach engineering subjects.

  • English as a second language

English is also a subject which is highly demanded. Mostly Nepali people are heading abroad for studying and work for that knowing English is compulsory. The teachers teaching the English language are in high demand.
