Descriptions
- Create standard recipes for preparation of meals;
- Setting up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment like knives, pans and food;
- Maintain work schedule for kitchen staff so as to ensure smooth flow of activities in the kitchen and the restaurant;
- Delegate duties to kitchen staff as per the menu requirements;
- Studying each recipe and gathering all necessary ingredients;
- Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients;
- Make sure that meal is prepared in time so that customer will be served in time;
- Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas;
- Monitor and maintain stock level so as to place orders for suppliers when due;
- Check freshness of food;
- Have a full understanding of food safety and sanitation practices;
- Maintain Company standards of food quality and presentation;
- Supervise the preparation of all food;
- Ensure meals are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available for the various areas;
- Ensure all staff are aware of their duties and what is expected of them;
- Teach new staff skills they require to perform their roles to required standard;
- Oversee the ordering and control of stock levels;
- Ensure proper hygienic storage methods are utilized to prevent food loss;
- Able to perform additional duties as requested by the management as and when required.
